Nanny/Child Caregiver/UCLA Graduate - Eugene, Oregon OR

Hi! I'm a UCLA graduate (History/American Literature & Culture) and am willing to relocate anywhere in the Pacific Northwest, for a full-time, Live-in position. I have been a Nanny/Child Caregiver for several years (while attending school), have worked with some wonderful families and, so, have excellent references. I have very dependable transportation (2005 Ford Explorer) and am punctual, reliable and have a very warm, friendly personality. I also have a 16 year-old daughter of my own, who's currently attending a private school in Utah. In preparation for a future in teaching, I've given an extensive amount of volunteer time in her classrooms over the years (2 yrs. of pre-school, K-6th and Jr. High) and, so, in all, have an enormous amount of experience with children. Currently, I'm preparing for the C-BEST, CSET & GRE exams and hope to begin work on my Master's Degree in Education and Teaching Credentials by the Fall of 2010. I'm a dedicated believer in the wonderful benefits of smiles, praise and stories, as well as parks, activities and outdoor play. I consider myself eco/health-minded, forward-thinking and creative, with an understanding that all children are not alike. I try to relate to each child based upon their own emerging gifts, temperament and personality. I also believe that all mediums - Books, Music and Art as well as Film, Television & Computers - each have certain unique gifts that contribute to learning. Thus, although each medium should be used in moderation, a variety of influences and experiences helps a child to learn to "think outside the box", so to speak and, consequently, will help them later to adapt to an adult world that will always be changing. However, above all, I'm very respectful of individual parental preferences, such as religious beliefs, diet, preferred types of television programming/books/music and any other issues that are important to each family. Tutoring is, of course, provided if desired, as well as any housekeeping and cooking needs. Schedule and hours are highly flexible, including most weekends.
